Charge: Programs and Awards Committee: will advance intercampus educational and scholarly interests of the faculty through the development and strengthening of University-wide programs, grants, and awards. The committee reviews proposals for the Conversations in the Disciplines program.

Shared Governance Award: The SUNY Shared Governance Award is a system-level honor and recognition to be conferred annually upon one SUNY campus in recognition of outstanding contributions to the advancement of shared governance. This award underscores SUNY’s commitment to academic excellence and public good through collaborative models of governance.

University Faculty Senate awards
- Ram Chugh/Senate Outstanding Service Award: The Ram Chugh/Senate Outstanding Service Award is conferred by the University Faculty Senate Executive Committee. Nominees for the award must have achieved a reputation for outstanding service in the area of faculty governance at the System and Campus levels. Consideration will be given for a sustained level of commitment for a minimum of five (5) years.
- Carl P. Wiezalis University Faculty Senate Fellow Award: This is the Senate’s highest honor to give to one of its own. The University Faculty Senate from time to time may bestow the status of Fellow on a current or former UFS Senator. An individual so honored must have achieved a reputation for exceptional service in the area of faculty governance.
