UFS President and SUNY Parliamentarian Visit SUNY Canton

​​Canton, NY – UFS President Keith Landa and SUNY Parliamentarian Henry Flax visited SUNY Canton on October 6th and 7th. Coming at the invitation of SUNY Canton’s shared governance body, both put in a generous amount of time meeting with individuals and groups across our campus, attending faculty assembly, and meeting with faculty, staff, students and administration. As SUNY Canton continues to revise their faculty governance bylaws, President Landa outlined the pros and cons of several current models at different SUNYs and led a productive open forum to hear questions and concerns about the best ways to move forward.

Keith and Henry have been very invested in listening to our concerns, looking at our bylaws, and generally making themselves available to us. Their SUNY wide perspective, years of experience, and calm diplomatic approach has been so helpful, as we consider ways to invigorate our shared governance process here at SUNY Canton."
